Summary: one to use
Comment: A real antidote to the too-slick Nigella/Gordon coffee table food-porn sort of book, which I imagine people buy to look at but rarely actually cook from. This is inspired by the power food has to bring people together, especially people from diverse cultures and the book captures this beautifully, with photos that feel real and capture the imperfections of real cooking.
It has a homely quality to it and incorporates nice stories by those who've contributed recipes. It's clearly intended as a book meant to end up with food stains and finger marks on the pages. Lovely
