Customer Rating: Summary: The ideal pocket guide to walking in Guernsey Comment: I have about half a dozen guidebooks about walking in Guernsey, but Landscapes of Guernsey is easily the best of them. Anyone could explore Guernsey without even bothering with a guidebook, because it is a small island and it's not difficult to look at a map and plan a route. However, if you do this, you are likely to miss a lot of interesting places which this book will point you towards. It has plenty of colour photographs (many other locally produced books, good though they are, only have black and white photos or sketches). Best of all it has 1:25,000 scale Ordnance Survey maps of all the walk routes. Keen walkers who are familiar with this type of map will know what an advantage it is to possess reliable maps of this kind. The book is on sale in the island but I recommend buying a copy in advance so that you can plan your walking holiday in advance.
