Summary: Excellent reference work
Comment: While I have used this on rare car journeys into the capital, I value it mainly as a reference work and it sits on my bookshelf. I am very lucky as it includes Sevenoaks, where I live, as well - perhaps more to do with a kink in the M25 than the city boundary.

With its excellent mapping at 3.3 inches to the mile - 9 inches to the mile for the centre - as well as planning maps of various sizes, it really is difficult to think of what else AZ could add. Perhaps some more plans like the theatres and cinema ones showing visitor attractions, and perhaps one map of the whole M25 area, unencumbered by the grid of the detail pages, for planning purposes.

I have had my current edition for 10 years and its still in great condition. Perhaps time to get an update in any case?

Summary: Excellent MAP of Greater London
Comment: I have not seen a larger MAP of London than this one.
I bought another one of these some 10 years ago and now bought this one to include the latest roads etc.
It covers areas as far away as Windsor.
It is hard back and will last years.
if you prefer to look at a map rather than use a navigator then this is a must for you.

Summary: the best mapping bar none
Comment: I would like to add a ringing endorsement for this product, which I have owned for the last ten years (and am finally getting a new up-to-date one!).

The mapping is clear and easy on the eye (so many other map publishers use too many garish colours). A roads are orange, B roads are yellow, the rest are white. Simple. Even the new colour coded system for buildings (public, educational, hospital, government etc) doesn't detract from the quality of the mapping.

Unlike some other map manufacturers, the A-Z from its start has always marked EVERY SINGLE street in London - no matter how tiny the street, or how abbreviated the name has to be to fit in, it will always be named. This is a crucial point and gives A-Z maps the edge over all the others, some of which show small roads but do not mark or index their names.

As pointed out, the level of detail is amazing, with even small pavilions and bandstands in cricket fields/parks etc. marked.

Summary: Absolutely the best for any professional driver
Comment: None better. I've worked throughout the M25 area, as Private Hire driver, Chauffeur, HGV driver. I've used every type of map going. This is way ahead of any other for rapidly finding an address and navigating to it. The book covers the entire M25 zone, plus a bit of fringe. The coverage area has one single zoning structure (from 1 to 100 North to South, and from A to FE East to West). Each page forms part of that, so if you're at 32L and you're heading for 42Z it's immediately obvious you need to go South and East. Landmarks are abundant - railway lines, post offices, fire and police stations, libraries, churches, schools, hospitals. Even tells you which side of the road is even/odd numbered, and which way the numbers run, and what the postcode area is. And it survives being thrown about, dropped, generally battered around in a truck cab.

Summary: Every Londoner should own one
Comment: If you need to get around London, this is what you need. It is the best map bar none and I have been using these A-Z's for 20 years without complaint.

Good detail of a large area of London, goes up to the M25 and slightly beyond in some places. Everything a driver would need is in this map.

and Amazon has the best deal yet again.
