Summary: So obviously a `gentle' man's lifes work
Comment: This book is not only a beautiful piece of writing, it is also so obviously this `gentle' man's lifes work. I did not read it from front to back immediately, on my first few flip throughs, my imagination was captured by the beautiful photos and the pictures the words accompanying them were painting. So I just read bits here and there and soon found myself wanting to start at the beginning. As I read, it grabbed my imagination and I found myself walking and gazing over the beautiful scenes that the writer was taking me. I have a love of Dartmoor myself, and sitting in my lounge reading through this little gem `I was there' remembering the places that I myself have explored.
For any visitor to Dartmoor, whether frequent or not, it is a treasure to keep and to look upon when a dreary day in a town far away makes to `want' for the green openness of Dartmoor.
