Editorial Reviews:

The long-standing Michelin Travel Guides are an ideal travel companion for travelers who really want to connect with the world. Get to know the local way of life through detailed background information on the country, people, and culture. Quickly identify the best places to visit using Michelin's star rating system. The best sites are highlighted on the sites map or you can follow a pre-planned driving tour. With the Michelin Travel Guide to Ireland, slip back to 4th Century Ireland at the Rock of Cashel, listen to Gaelic lore in Connemara, quaff a pint of Guinness and tour Joyce's Dublin, take sanctuary in the monastic site at Glendalough or view 40,000 basalt columns on the north coast at Giant's Causeway.

Summary: Michelin Guide to Ireland
Comment: Very useful, succinct, well organized, helpful fold-out overview maps, extensive index, no "chattiness" to plow through.

Customer Rating: Average rating of 3/5Average rating of 3/5Average rating of 3/5Average rating of 3/5Average rating of 3/5
Summary: Not as useful as it could be
Comment: Because of the way the book is organized (alphabetically instead of by region), this book isn't as useful for initial planning of a vacation route. It is useful as a resource when you've already figured out where you want to go and what you want to see, however. I also don't like the map that goes with this much. The insets are pretty bad (and only available for Dublin and Belfast). They don't even use one side of the map. If they did they'd have room for better (and more) insets.
